Social & Emotional Learning Support Assistant
£14.24 – £16.00 per hour | Primary & Secondary | Flexible Supply Work

We are recruiting Social & Emotional Learning Support Assistants to work across primary and secondary settings, supporting pupils with SEMH needs, emotional regulation difficulties and behavioural challenges.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The RoleYou could work 1:1, with small groups or as part of a classroom team, providing the encouragement and support pupils need to engage positively with school.

Your role may include:

• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
• Helping pupils manage emotions and regulate their behaviour
• Building trusting and positive relationships
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Supporting pupils to return to learning following challenging situations
• Developing confidence, resilience and independence
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff
• Supporting pupils across different Key Stages when required

Although you may have the opportunity to experience different Key Stages, you will generally be based within one class or setting, giving you the opportunity to become a familiar and trusted member of the team.

The role can be challenging, but seeing a young person begin to trust you, engage with learning and make progress makes it incredibly rewarding.
