Castle Education is recruiting Nursery Support Assistants to work across a number of welcoming nursery settings in and around York.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you’re looking for extra income, additional hours around your studies or another job, or you’re looking to gain valuable experience and get your foot in the door within Early Years.
You can choose the days and availability that work for you, with opportunities ranging from ad-hoc supply to regular part-time work.
💷 What could you earn?At £14.24–£16.00 per hour, an 8-hour day could earn you £113.92–£128.

- Supporting children with their daily routines, learning and play
- Helping to create a safe, positive and engaging environment
- Building positive relationships with children
- Supporting nursery staff with activities and day-to-day routines
- Encouraging children’s confidence, independence and development
- Working as part of a friendly nursery team

Where are the settings? We work with multiple nurseries across York, giving you the opportunity to work in different locations and find settings that suit you.
Many of our settings are accessible by walking or public transport, although some locations may require your own vehicle.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
- Level 2 Childcare qualification
- Previous experience working with children and young people through employment, volunteering or relevant experience
- A caring, reliable and enthusiastic approach
- A genuine interest in working with children
Desirable:
- Level 3 Childcare / Early Years qualification
- Previous nursery or Early Years experience
