Are you a caring and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role within a supportive school environment?
We are currently working with a welcoming primary school in York who are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term supply basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and supporting them to thrive both academically, socially and emotionally.

Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team, you will provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence and build confidence throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will:
• Provide nurturing and consistent support for children with SEND
• Support pupils with their learning, communication and emotional development
• Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver engaging activities
• Assist with personalised learning plans and targeted interventions
• Support children with confidence, independence and social skills
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has previous experience supporting children with additional needs (school, care or similar settings)
• Is patient, approachable and passionate about making a difference
• Can adapt their approach to meet individual needs
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young people
• Holds relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
