Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day
Location: Hull & East Yorkshire

The right support can completely change a pupil’s experience of school.

Castle Education is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to work with primary and secondary schools across Hull and East Yorkshire, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.

We’re looking for people who understand that progress can look different for every pupil. For one child it might be completing a piece of work independently. For another it could be regulating their emotions, communicating a need, joining their class or simply having a successful day at school.

Your experience could come from mainstream education, SEND schools, alternative provision, residential settings, care, youth work or another environment where you have supported children or young people with additional needs.

Depending on the setting, you may support pupils with:

  • Autism and communication needs
    • ADHD
    • Social, emotional and mental health needs
    • Learning difficulties
    • Physical or sensory needs
    • Behaviour that can challenge
    • Speech, language and communication needs

The role could involve 1:1 support, working with small groups or providing additional support within the wider classroom.
Patience, consistency and the ability to build trusting relationships are essential. Relevant school experience is valuable, but we are also interested in transferable experience from other settings.

Castle Education is expanding its relationships with schools and Multi Academy Trusts across Hull and East Yorkshire through the GCA framework, creating more opportunities for experienced support professionals locally.

Why work with Castle Education?

  • Established relationships with schools and MATs across Yorkshire
    • Approved supplier through the GCA framework
    • Access to 30 free CPD courses
    • Local, knowledgeable education consultants
    • Opportunities matched around your experience, availability and preferred travel area
    • Industry-leading referral scheme
    • Mental health and wellbeing support
    • An experienced team who understand education and the schools we work with
