At Castle Education we are seeking dedicated SEND Support Assistants/ SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist SEND school in Harrogate, HG2.
This school supports 155 students across 18 classes, including six Post-16 classes, with a range of complex needs, including autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
 
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to help students engage in learning, develop their skills, and achieve their potential.
 You will help create a safe, supportive and engaging environment where every student is valued and supported to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with their learning, communication, and daily activities.
• Working alongside teachers to meet individual student needs.
• Providing personal care and support with personal hygiene when required.
• Promoting independence, confidence and engagement.
• Maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment.

 
Requirements:

• An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Confidence and willingness to support students with personal care and intimate hygiene.
• Previous SEND, autism, complex needs or care experience is desirable but not essential.
• A caring, patient, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved.
• Flexible, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and maintaining professional boundaries.
