Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Job Type: Long-term, ongoing
Working Pattern: Full-time opportunities available
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to children’s lives?

Do you enjoy helping children learn, develop their confidence and achieve things they may not have thought possible?

Castle Education is working in partnership with 3 specialist schools in the Harrogate area to recruit caring, enthusiastic and reliable Learning Support Assistants for long-term, ongoing opportunities.

This is a brilliant opportunity if you are looking for consistent work in one school, regular hours and the chance to become a valued part of a classroom team. These are not simply day to day supply bookings. We are looking for people who want to build relationships with pupils and support them throughout their learning journey.

A little bit about the schools
Our partner schools provide specialist education for children and young people with additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, communication needs and complex needs.
The schools pride themselves on creating welcoming environments where pupils are encouraged to develop at their own pace, build independence and enjoy learning.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting pupils with their learning, both individually and in small groups.
  • Helping the class teacher deliver engaging and accessible activities.
  • Encouraging pupils to communicate, develop independence and build confidence.
  • Providing reassurance, encouragement and positive support throughout the school day.
  • Helping create a safe, calm and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils with their individual learning, communication and development needs.
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure every pupil receives the support they need.

Who would suit this role?
We are keen to hear from people who are patient, caring and genuinely enjoy working with children.
You may already be working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Support Worker or in another childcare or care-based role.
Experience supporting children with SEND would be beneficial, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to build trusting relationships are equally important.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient and understanding.
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term role.
  • Confident working as part of a team.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to pupils’ individual needs.
  • Passionate about helping children develop and achieve their potential.

What can Castle Education offer you?

  • Long-term, ongoing work in a specialist school.
  • Consistent work with guaranteed hours available.
  • The opportunity to settle into a school and build meaningful relationships.
  • Experience working with children with a range of additional needs.
  • Ongoing support from the Castle Education team.
  • A rewarding role where you can see the difference you make every day.

If you are looking for a role that offers more consistency, purpose and the chance to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
