Castle Education is working with supportive Primary schools across Whitby and is recruiting patient, caring and reliable SEN Teaching
Assistants to provide in-class support for pupils with additional learning needs within mainstream classrooms.

This role is ideal for Teaching Assistants who enjoy one-to-one or small group SEN support while remaining part of a wider class environment.

The role As a SEN Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school, you will:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN
• Support children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties
• Assist the class teacher with classroom activities and routines
• Help pupils stay engaged, regulated and supported throughout the school day
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Follow safeguarding procedures and individual support plans
• Provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff as required

You can choose the days you work and the schools you support.
Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Confidence supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom
• A flexible and professional attitude
• Relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
