SEN & SEMH Learning Support Assistant
(Long-Term – Full Academic Year)

💰 Pay: £14–£16 per hour
📆 Start Date: September 2026
🕒 Hours: Full-time / Part-time
📄 Contract: Long-term (full academic year, with potential to extend)

We are recruiting SEN and SEMH Learning Support Assistants to work on a long-term basis from September 2026 across a specialist SEN setting with four sites in York. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across different provisions while providing consistent, meaningful support to pupils.
You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and wider multidisciplinary teams to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and succeed in a structured and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
• Support pupils to access the curriculum across a range of abilities
• Implement positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation support
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
• Support inclusion across classrooms and wider school environments
• Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing
