Castle Education is working with Primary schools across Whitby. We are recruiting confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support schools with day-to-day cover and short-term assignments.
This role is ideal for HLTAs who want flexibility, regular local work, and the chance to use their skills without committing to a permanent role.

The role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
• Lead small groups or cover whole classes when required
• Deliver pre-planned learning activities set by the teacher or school
• Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
• Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies
• Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of the day

You can choose the days you work and the schools you support.
Requirements

• HLTA status or equivalent experience
• Recent experience working in a Primary school setting
• Confidence leading groups or classes when required
• A calm, flexible and professional approach
• A genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
