We are currently working with a number of supportive and well established schools across York who are looking to welcome experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants into their teams. Opportunities are available on both a full time and part time basis with immediate starts available.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced support staff looking to take the next step in their education career while enjoying flexibility around their availability.

📖 The Role
As an HLTA, you’ll support teaching and learning across the school, confidently covering lessons when required and helping pupils achieve their full potential within the classroom.

✏️ Key Responsibilities
• Deliver lessons and supervise classes during teacher absences
• Support the preparation of classroom activities and resources
• Work with pupils on both a one-to-one and small group basis
• Assist with behaviour management and classroom engagement
• Encourage pupils’ academic and personal development
• Work closely with teachers and wider school staff

✅ Requirements
• HLTA qualification is essential
• Previous experience in a similar school based role
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Confidence leading lessons and supporting learning
• Positive, adaptable, and proactive approach
• Availability for either part time or full time work
